MINISTER OF MUSIC & aRTS
Minister Tory Thurman:
Minister Tory Thurman was born in Atlanta, GA on January 4, 1986. He
received salvation at the age 6 years old and has been on fire for the
lord ever since. Min. Thurman has always had a love for music, singing
and the arts. He was a faithful member of the school chorus and marching
band for many years. He began to direct choirs and bands while
in middle school and became the choir director for the Redan High School
gospel choir during his Sophomore year. After graduating from Redan
High School, Min. Thurman attended the University of West Georgia with
a major in Music and Business. He has appeared on Good Morning America,
starred in "The Wiz", and was a contestant on the show “American
Idol” during the fourth season. Min. Thurman most recently completed
a musical project with Bishop Eddie Long featuring, Dorinda Clark
Cole, Tye Tribbett, Mary Mary and the GW's. This album is
scheduled for release in late spring 2009. He is also a branch Manager
at Best Bank in Atlanta. In all his accomplishments, Min. Thurman has
continued to remain humble and loyal to the word of God and has dedicated his
life to serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
By being sensitive to the voice and spirit of the Lord, Minister Thurman
leads the Music & Arts Ministry in its pursuit to provide true and
authentic worship. The Music & Arts Ministry’s mission
is to honestly and truthfully set an atmosphere of praise and worship
that is pleasing to God. The ministry desires to use our gifts, "for
the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and for
the edifying of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:12) To ultimately
uplift, inspire, motivate and encourage the body of Christ, while giving
God the glory and the honor he deserves. The ministry believes firmly
in worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth each and every Sunday,
and understands that if God be lifted up, He will draw all men to himself.
The ministry’s aim is to lift the Lord’s name through song,
dance, art, music and all the creative gifts and talents that the Lord
has blessed us with; refusing to be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
endeavoring to share our love for Him with you. By being obedient to
the word of God and the leadership of our Pastor, Min. Thurman is excited
about doing the work of the Lord and the building up of the body of
Christ. So come join him, the Music & Arts Ministry and the Cornerstone
Faith Christian Church family as we exalt the name of Lord together!
MINISTER OF PASTORAL CARE
Minister Monique Hinton:
Min. Monique Oliver Hinton is a 1983 graduate of Harris County High
School in Hamilton GA. She obtained her associates degree in accounting
from Kerr Business College in Lagrange, GA. Min. Hinton attended World
Harvest Bible College in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Divine Faith
Ministries Bible College in Jonesboro, GA.
After accepting Christ at an early age, Min. Hinton learned from her
grandmother the importance of prayer and serving in the local church.
The lessons taught at her grandmother’s table and Sunday school
formed the foundation for her calling and love for teaching and serving
in the church.
Min. Hinton served at Divine Faith Ministries for 16 years where she
worked in every area of ministry and obtained her ministry license.
While serving at DFM and working closely with her pastor, Min. Hinton’s
gift of organization and planning opened the door for a relationship
with both Pastor Rod Parsley and his mother Ellen Parsley of World Harvest
Ministries.
Min. Hinton served as Armor Bearer of Mrs. Ellen Parsley for 3 years. During
that time, she trained others throughout the country on how to serve
men and women of God. The power of prayer and the true intimacy
of praise and worship have continued to prepare Min. Hinton for her
ministry of service to others.
Now a member of Cornerstone of Faith, Min. Hinton’s vast knowledge
and commitment to serving the needs of Church leadership are valued
gifts she brings with her as she assists with the vision of Pastor Stover. Her
vision for the Pastoral Care ministry is to equip men and women with
the tools and biblical knowledge of serving.
Min. Hinton’s greatest calling is being the mother of two wonderful
children, Brandon (25) and Brittney (19). She is also the grandmother
of two precious girls, Crystalyn and Marley.
MINISTER OF PRAYER & DISCIPLE COVERING
Minister Gwen Cooper:
Min. Gwen Cooper is the Prayer & Disciple Covering Minister at
Cornerstone of Faith. The Prayer & Disciple Covering Ministry is
designed to foster personal, corporate and intercessory prayer within
the church. It is also charged with praying for the sick, infirmed,

Ministry to meet the spiritual prayer needs of our disciples.
Min. Cooper has earned an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Beulah
Heights University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts Degree
in Biblical Leadership at Beulah Heights University. Min. Cooper’s educational pursuits and
actions have opened her heart to know God in such a special and profound
way. Her greatest desire is to share the impact of the movement of God through
and in her life with others. She is a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister
and a friend to many, but above all, she is a woman of great faith. If you
were to ask Min. Cooper, “what has kept you going at times when all
may have seemed lost”, her reply would be, “the power of prayer.” She
is a woman that believes in the power of prayer and its manifestation.
Min. Cooper has served in the Ministry of Intercessory Prayer and Outreach.
She is a member of Women on the Battlefield, Inc.,
a national prayer and support group of women that meet each
morning at 5:30 AM via conference call to lift up church leaders, ministry
concerns, and issues surrounding God’s people worldwide. She feels indebted to those
whom God has placed in her life to deposit the riches of His glory, and
believes that “to whom much is given, much is required.” Min.
Cooper knows that prayer is the lifeline of the church; initiating small
acts of love that become the bridge to walk with others as they crossover
to a place where purpose-filled lives are being built on the foundation
of God’s Word through the Power of Prayer, which brings about change
and hope for a brighter future.
